The Saudi men’s handball team has advanced to the final of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025) following a commanding 29–15 victory against the United Arab Emirates. This impressive win positions Saudi Arabia just one match away from clinching the gold medal, as they look ahead to their final clash against Bahrain.
Throughout the match, the Saudi players displayed exceptional skill and resilience. Entering the arena with a firm focus, the team knew this semifinal was a critical step on their road to victory and executed their game plan flawlessly.
The first half unfolded with both teams showcasing tenacity and robust defenses. Although the UAE squad started strong and stayed competitive during the initial minutes, Saudi Arabia seized control as the first half progressed.
Leading 10–8 at halftime, Saudi Arabia looked poised to capitalize on their momentum. Despite the narrow two-goal margin, their organized teamwork enabled them to create opportunities and maintain a solid defense.
The UAE attempted several counterattacks but found the Saudi defense unyielding. The first half concluded with Saudi Arabia maintaining a slim lead, leaving the match wide open.
The second half, however, belonged to Saudi Arabia. Returning with renewed vigor and a well-defined strategy, they accelerated the game pace and quickly began scoring. The UAE struggled to match the intensity of the Saudi team.
In the second period, Saudi Arabia outscored the UAE 19–5, a remarkable display of their strength and conditioning. Each player contributed, from offense to defense, ensuring effective possession and countless scoring opportunities, making recovery difficult for the UAE.
As time progressed, the Saudi lead widened, culminating in a definitive 29–15 victory.
With this semifinal success, the Saudi handball team is set for an eagerly anticipated final against Bahrain, known for their seasoned handball squad, promising an electrifying showdown.
The players and coaching staff are now gearing up for the final, determined to secure the gold medal. Their semifinal performance has undoubtedly boosted fans' faith in the team’s capabilities.
