Russian Fitness Influencer Dies After Extreme 10,000-Calorie Challenge

Russian Fitness Influencer Dies After Extreme 10,000-Calorie Challenge

Post by : Rameen Ariff

A Russian fitness coach and social media influencer, Dmitry Nuyanzin, 30, tragically died after taking part in a high-calorie junk food challenge. Nuyanzin, from Orenburg, aimed to inspire his clients to lose weight by showing a dramatic weight gain and loss transformation.

As part of the challenge, Nuyanzin consumed over 10,000 calories daily for several weeks. His extreme diet included pastries and cake for breakfast, 800 grams of dumplings with mayonnaise for lunch, and a burger with two small pizzas for dinner. He shared updates of his weight gain on social media, with his last post showing he had reached 105 kg after gaining at least 13 kg in a month.

The influencer canceled his training sessions a day before his death, telling friends he felt unwell and planned to see a doctor. Tragically, Nuyanzin passed away in his sleep due to heart failure while attempting to complete the challenge.

Nuyanzin was a graduate of the Orenburg Olympic Reserve School and the National Fitness University in St. Petersburg. He had over a decade of experience coaching elite athletes in Russia and had a large following online.

The news has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users expressing condolences and warning others about the dangers of extreme eating challenges. Some described his story as a cautionary tale against consuming excessive junk food, even for fitness or promotional purposes.

Nuyanzin’s death serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with extreme diets and high-calorie challenges, especially when attempted without medical supervision.
