A recently circulated video featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin has once again heightened concerns regarding his health status. The clip, significantly shared across social media platforms, depicts the 73-year-old leader's right hand as appearing swollen and veiny, leading to renewed discussions about potential medical troubles.
This footage, reportedly filmed last week, captures Putin during a meeting with 22-year-old Yekaterina Leshchinskaya, head of the Russian Healthy Fatherland movement. In the video, Putin appears somewhat uncomfortable, often clenching his right hand into a fist—behavior that has quickly caught the attention of viewers online.
Anton Gerashchenko, a former adviser to Ukraine’s interior ministry, shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), questioning: “What’s with Putin’s hands in this video?” His post initiated a flurry of speculation, with observers suggesting the Russian leader might be experiencing circulatory or neurological issues, such as Parkinson’s disease.
This isn’t the first instance that the health of Vladimir Putin has entered into international discussions. Earlier this year, his hand showed signs of bruising during a military visit, further fueling speculation about his wellbeing. Kremlin representatives have consistently rejected such allegations, labeling them as “fake” and politically driven.
Netizens have put forward comparisons between Putin's recent appearance and past cases involving global leaders who faced similar scrutiny. For example, former U.S. President Donald Trump's bruised hand once prompted health questions, later clarified by his officials as a result of “tissue damage from frequent handshaking.”
With increasing scrutiny surrounding Putin’s health, footage of his earlier conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping has reemerged on social media. In this conversation, Putin was heard discussing the prospects of human organ transplants and prolonged life, stating, “Human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become.” This remark has rekindled curiosity about his perspective on aging and the concept of immortality.
Currently, there has been no response from the Kremlin regarding the latest health talk. However, officials previously asserted that Putin is in “excellent health,” maintaining his schedule of meetings and public appearances.
As the video continues to gain traction globally, discussions about Putin's health are once again prominent—igniting both concern and theories among onlookers.
