Schools across Pakistan’s Balochistan province have officially reopened from April 1 after a temporary closure caused by the global fuel crisis. The provincial government had earlier suspended educational activities from March 10 to March 31 due to rising fuel costs linked to international geopolitical tensions.
According to official notifications, all public and private schools in Balochistan will now operate on a five-day working week, from Monday to Friday. This measure has been introduced to manage fuel consumption while ensuring that academic activities continue without major disruption. Authorities have also confirmed that examinations will proceed as per the previously announced schedules.
Similarly, schools in Sindh have resumed classes from April 1 with the same five-day week structure. The provincial government stated that all institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will return to regular in-person classes instead of online learning, marking the beginning of the new academic session.
Officials emphasized that the revised schedule is part of broader austerity measures aimed at tackling the ongoing fuel crisis. With provinces aligning their strategies, the education system is gradually stabilizing while adapting to current economic challenges.
