Charles Oliveira has reassured fans about the anticipated BMF rematch against Max Holloway, clearing up any confusion about a potential January fight. The former UFC lightweight champion shared on Instagram that while discussions are in progress, no specific date has been locked in yet.
“There’s nothing confirmed about my fight, Max Holloway and I for January,” Oliveira stated. “I’m on vacation with my family… it certainly won’t be in January. But this fight will happen. I want it, he wants it, and you also want it.”
After a recent victory over Mateusz Gamrot in Rio de Janeiro, Oliveira has expressed his desire for a rematch following a loss to Ilia Topuria earlier this year. Holloway has been inactive since defending his BMF title against Dustin Poirier last July, after his featherweight loss to Topuria in late 2024.
The two fighters previously faced off in August 2015, a fight cut short by an unfortunate neck injury to Oliveira just 99 seconds in. With both competitors having achieved championship status, the upcoming rematch is eagerly awaited by fans across the globe.
Oliveira hinted that more updates could be expected soon, with March or April looking like possible timelines for the bout. As both fighters express their enthusiasm for the match, UFC supporters are excitedly anticipating this thrilling encounter for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles.
