In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Oklahoma State secured a dominant 94-67 victory over Prairie View A&M on Wednesday night in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Cowboys showcased exceptional performance with Vyctorius Miller leading the charge.
Miller shone brightly in the game, netting a remarkable 30 points. He converted 8 of 12 attempts from the field and successfully hit 5 of 8 three-point attempts, establishing an early advantage for Oklahoma State that they maintained throughout.
Parsa Fallah contributed significantly with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Kanye Clary added nine points, illustrating the balanced scoring approach of the Cowboys. The team’s focus on ball movement and locating open players was instrumental in outmaneuvering Prairie View A&M on both offense and defense.
For the Panthers, Tai’Reon Joseph led the scoring with 16 points, while Doug Young and Marcel Bryant each chipped in 10 points. However, they struggled to match Oklahoma State's intensity and accuracy. With a record of 2-2, the Panthers faced difficulties keeping pace with the Cowboys’ relentless play.
Rebounding proved pivotal in this matchup. Oklahoma State excelled on the boards, amassing 54 rebounds in contrast to Prairie View A&M’s 31. The Cowboys' offensive rebounding was particularly noteworthy, yielding 19 board grabs that translated to 23 second-chance points, demonstrating their hustle and resilience throughout the game.
Both teams experienced a sluggish start, missing several early opportunities. However, a corner three-pointer from Miller provided Oklahoma State with an 8-3 lead, helping them gain momentum. Prairie View A&M briefly held a 15-14 lead with a steal leading to a dunk from Joseph, but that was short-lived.
A critical timeout shifted the momentum, as the Cowboys launched a 17-3 run, propelling them to a 31-18 lead with a putback by Christian Coleman. By halftime, they maintained a 46-32 lead, displaying dominance on both ends of the court.
Oklahoma State emerged from the locker room with renewed vigor, starting the second half with a 14-4 run that expanded their lead to 60-36. Highlights included Ryan Crotty's tip-in and Isaiah Coleman’s dunk after a steal, showcasing the team’s vigor and control. They extended their lead to 68-36 and held firm for the remainder of the game.
Though Prairie View A&M attempted a rally, trimming the deficit to 73-49 with a 9-2 run spearheaded by Joseph's three-pointer, the Cowboys quickly regained dominance, keeping them at bay for the rest of the match.
Inside the paint, Oklahoma State excelled, scoring 44 points close to the basket versus the Panthers’ 26. Their rapid tempo, tenacious defense, and cohesive teamwork ensured they pressured Prairie View A&M until the closing buzzer.
This victory marks Oklahoma State's third consecutive win, elevating their record to 3-0. With Miller's promising performance and the team’s robust rebounding and defensive prowess, they are well-positioned for a successful season. Meanwhile, Prairie View A&M, now at 2-2, must focus on minimizing turnovers and enhancing defense to rebound in future matchups.
Ultimately, the spotlight was on Vyctorius Miller, whose 30-point showcase solidified his status as a key player for the Cowboys this season. His precision shooting and spirited leadership set the stage for this outstanding victory.
