Mariam Mohamed First Emirati UAE Representative at Miss Universe

Mariam Mohamed First Emirati UAE Representative at Miss Universe

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Dubai: Twenty-six-year-old Mariam Mohamed has made history by becoming the first Emirati to represent the United Arab Emirates at the upcoming Miss Universe 2025 pageant. The global competition is scheduled to be held on November 21 in Pak Kret, Thailand, where over 130 countries are expected to participate, with a global audience of more than 500 million people.

A fashion student based in Dubai, Mariam Mohamed was selected from hundreds of applicants across the UAE for this prestigious opportunity. She initially graduated from the University of Sydney in 2021 with a Bachelor of Economics and later pursued her passion for fashion by enrolling at ESMOD Dubai, one of the leading fashion design schools in the region.

Mariam is keen on reflecting her heritage through her personal and professional pursuits. Her hobbies include falconry and camel riding, two culturally significant activities that highlight the UAE’s rich traditions. Through her participation in Miss Universe, Mariam hopes to inspire the next generation of Emirati women and showcase the essence of the UAE on a global stage.

She joins Nadine Ayoub, a Dubai resident, who will represent Palestine at Miss Universe for the first time. The UAE was represented last year by Kosovo-born Emilia Dobreva, who has been a long-time resident of Dubai. The competition allows participants of all nationalities to represent the UAE, provided they have lived in the country for over three years.

The Miss Universe 2025 pageant marks the 74th edition of this annual international event. With an expected audience of over 500 million viewers worldwide, Mariam Mohamed’s historic representation is poised to highlight the UAE’s culture, heritage, and talent on a global platform.
