On Children’s Day, Bollywood stars fondly revisit their carefree childhoods, reminiscing about the joys of scraped knees, cherished pets, and those small yet significant rituals that have shaped their identities. Kalki Koechlin shared a heartfelt glimpse into one of her “purest childhood moments” by posting a cherished photograph along with her reflections.
Kalki fondly remembers an unusual companion from her childhood—a baby squirrel that was a beloved family member. In sharing a nostalgic picture from that era, she recounts her experiences with a warm smile.
“That was my pet squirrel,” she shares, beaming with joy. “He used to curl up in my hair at night.” With a chuckle, she adds, “When he was little, I fed him Cerelac with a pipette and I was a thumb sucker for ages! Maybe that’s why I have such a loud mouth now.”
As a mother to her 5-year-old daughter Sappho, Kalki reflects on the new joys that motherhood has introduced into her life. “She’s her own unique individual. I encourage her to unleash her imagination. She enjoys face painting—sometimes she paints her own face, and other times she paints mine,” she shares with warmth.
For Kalki, Children’s Day serves as a joyful reminder of innocence, whimsical habits, and the special friendships that many retain into their adulthood.
