Ajaz Khan Faces FIR for Spreading Fake News Through Social Media

Ajaz Khan Faces FIR for Spreading Fake News Through Social Media

Post by : Meena Ariff

An FIR has been lodged against actor Ajaz Khan, known from Bigg Boss, for disseminating false information and contentious material via social media. The case is being handled by the Crime Branch in Indore.

Rajesh Dandotiya, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police in Indore, confirmed that Khan was called to the station following the FIR.

“An FIR was registered against Ajaz Khan for circulating misinformation and offensive content on social media. Following the filing, he received a notice and presented himself to give his statement. His mobile device has been confiscated as part of a case dating back two months. Numerous fake news items related to this case have been identified, leading to the blocking of 32 accounts and complaints against 68 others,” the ADCP stated.

The case centers on allegations that a video with highly inappropriate content was shared from Khan’s social media account. The actor was interrogated for three hours at the police station. Legal measures are being pursued in accordance with established protocols.

This isn’t Ajaz Khan’s first run-in with the law over his online activities. Previously, he faced an FIR for a derogatory post aimed at a YouTuber and their family, which was reportedly filled with offensive, defamatory, and vulgar content, along with false statements.

Earlier this October, the Delhi High Court granted anticipatory bail to Ajaz Khan under certain conditions, including a bond of Rs 30,000 and presenting one surety in case of his arrest.

Authorities have underscored their vigilance regarding the spread of fake news and offensive material on social media, asserting that legal actions will be enforced against individuals breaching these laws.
