Fatima Bosch has officially been crowned Miss Universe 2025 during a spectacular finale in Thailand. The 25-year-old emerged as a prominent contender, particularly after a viral incident in which she maintained her composure while being reprimanded during a live stream by a Thai pageant director. Her poised demeanor won her admiration worldwide and elevated her popularity significantly.
She received her crown from last year’s Miss Universe winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh took the first runner-up spot, with Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali following closely. The Top 5 also included Ahtisa Manalo representing the Philippines and Olivia Yacé from Ivory Coast.
Hailing from Santiago de Teapa in Tabasco, Mexico, Bosch makes history as the first woman from her state to win the Miss Universe title. She pursued fashion design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and furthered her studies at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and Lyndon Institute in Vermont. Her journey in pageantry began in 2018 when she clinched the Flor de Oro crown in Tabasco. In addition, Bosch has openly shared her experiences with ADHD and dyslexia throughout her schooling, inspiring many through her candidness and confidence.
Prior to the final event, Bosch faced controversy when Miss Universe Thailand director Nawat Itsaragrisil criticized her during a live-streamed meeting for not sharing enough promotional content. Despite his denial of using harsh language, the incident sparked support from fellow contestants who walked out in solidarity, further bolstering her international fan base and positioning her as a frontrunner.
This year’s pageant featured 120 participants. A standout was Nadeen Ayoub, who made history as the first representative of the Palestinian people and reached the Top 30. Hosted by American comedian Steve Byrne, the event began with a lively performance by Thai singer Jeff Satur. The competitors showcased their talents through different rounds, eventually narrowing from the Top 120 to the Top 30, then to the Top 12, and concluding with the Top 5.
During the final Q&A segment, contestants shared their thoughts on global issues and how they would empower young girls. Bosch moved the judges with her impactful message: “Believe in the power of your authenticity. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth.” Her sincere reply and confident presence ultimately helped her clinch the crown, winning the hearts of viewers around the globe.
