Dubai has launched a Smart Security Breach Reporting System intended to raise safety standards across its expanding aviation network. The initiative, announced by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, is designed to give authorities faster visibility and response to potential security incidents.
The platform uses advanced smart technologies and integrated digital tools to provide continuous monitoring, accelerate incident management and improve coordination among relevant agencies. Officials say the system will strengthen Dubai’s aviation security posture and help the city anticipate and mitigate operational challenges at one of the world’s busiest air hubs.
Developed through collaboration between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Dubai Police and Dubai Customs, the system marks a significant step in inter-agency cooperation. It also incorporates predictive analytics to identify emerging threats proactively, reinforcing Dubai’s standing in safety, efficiency and innovation.
The rollout coincides with a strong first half of 2025 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), which posted a 2.3 percent rise in passenger traffic to 46 million travellers and handled more than 1 million tonnes of cargo. Work continues on Al Maktoum International Airport’s AED128 billion expansion, which aims for a capacity of 150 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo annually at full build-out.
Officials say the Smart Security Breach Reporting System underlines Dubai’s commitment to maintaining a technologically advanced and secure aviation environment, and could serve as a benchmark for aviation security practices worldwide as passenger and cargo volumes grow.
