Country music legend Dolly Parton, 79, has reassured her fans that she is in good health after recent comments by her sister sparked worries about her well-being. Sharing a lighthearted Instagram video on Wednesday, Parton said, "I ain't dead yet. Do I look sick to you? I'm working hard here," while filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry.
The Grammy-winning singer had recently postponed a series of Las Vegas shows to address unspecified health issues. Her sister, Freida Parton, had previously expressed concern on social media, saying she had been "up all night praying" for Dolly. Freida later clarified that she did not intend to alarm anyone.
In the video, Dolly Parton explained that she had been neglecting her own health following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March. She confirmed that she is now consulting doctors and taking steps to manage her health. "I want you to know I'm OK. I've got some problems … nothing major. I'm not dying," she added with a smile.
Dolly Parton, who is also known for her roles in films like Steel Magnolias, is set to receive an honorary Oscar this November, celebrating her decades-long contributions to music and entertainment.
This update reassures fans that the country music icon continues to remain active in her work despite minor health concerns.
