Dhanashree Verma Opens Up About Marriage With Yuzvendra Chahal

Dhanashree Verma Opens Up About Marriage With Yuzvendra Chahal

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Choreographer and digital creator Dhanashree Verma recently shared her emotional journey regarding her marriage with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal while appearing on Ashneer Grover’s reality show Rise & Fall. The couple had tied the knot in December 2020 in Gurgaon, but their relationship ended in divorce in March 2025, after living separately since 2022.

During her candid conversation with host Arjun Bijlani, Dhanashree revealed how their marriage began as a mix of love and arranged setup. She said, “It started as an arranged marriage. He wanted to marry without dating, and I wasn’t planning anything like that. I got convinced because of the love and effort poured into the process. We did our roka in August and married in December.”

She admitted noticing subtle changes in Chahal’s behavior over time. “There’s a difference between how people act when they want something and after they get it. Even though I trusted him and gave my hundred per cent, eventually, I could not continue,” Dhanashree said emotionally.

When asked about the possibility of reconciliation or friendship, Dhanashree stated, “I will always care about him. That concern will never go away.” She also hinted at challenges in the marriage but refrained from sharing all details at the moment.

The choreographer also touched upon rumors surrounding Chahal’s new relationship after their separation. Chahal was recently seen attending the Champions Trophy final in Dubai with RJ Mahvash. Both have clarified that they are just friends.

Rise & Fall, streaming on Amazon MX Player, is a reality show hosted by Ashneer Grover. The show features contestants divided into Rulers, who live in luxury and make key decisions, and Workers, who live in a basement and complete tasks to build the prize pot. The unique format allows contestants to “rise” or “fall” based on their performance and alliances, adding drama and excitement to the competition.
