Delhi Crime, the International Emmy-winning drama, is set to return for a third season. The series' trailer, dropped on Tuesday, reunites familiar faces and teases a darker, more extensive investigation.
Shefali Shah is back as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, supported by Rajesh Tailang as Inspector Bhupendra Singh and Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh IPS. This instalment centres on a sprawling human-trafficking probe, with Huma Qureshi introduced as the ominous figure dubbed ‘Badi Didi’.
Major plot points revealed in the trailer:
A lorry carrying about 30 young girls is intercepted in Delhi, triggering a major investigation that connects multiple cities, including Silchar, Mumbai, Surat and Rohtak.
Preliminary inquiries suggest the victims were lured by fake job offers and then trafficked domestically or abroad.
Another thread appears when a woman leaves her two-year-old child at AIIMS trauma centre in Delhi—raising questions about links to the trafficking network.
DCP Vartika pushes to assemble a focused task force to unravel how these cases are connected.
Huma Qureshi’s character, Badi Didi, emerges as a central figure behind the operations, adding a tense new antagonist to the story.
The preview also hints at cross-border dimensions, suggesting the investigation may extend beyond India.
Directed by Tanuj Chopra, Delhi Crime Season 3 is scheduled to stream from November 13.
The show first arrived in March 2019 with a season inspired by the 2012 Delhi gang rape case. Season 2, which examined the Chaddi Baniyan Gang, premiered in August 2022. In 2020 the series made history by winning the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
