During his visit to Dushanbe on November 22, 2025, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi engaged in discussions aimed at amplifying trade, investment, and political alliances between China and Tajikistan. He underscored China’s dedication to being a reliable partner for Tajikistan.
Wang Yi revealed plans for China to increase imports of high-quality agricultural goods from Tajikistan, along with encouragement for more Chinese investments in the nation, thereby aiding its economic development.
The discussions also addressed vital political support. Wang expressed gratitude to Tajikistan for its unwavering backing of China on delicate issues such as Taiwan, affirming China’s resolute stance against any external meddling in Taiwan affairs and denouncing the rise of Japanese militarism in light of recent tense comments from the Japanese Prime Minister.
Additionally, he highlighted the necessity of adhering to the international consensus on the one-China principle, which recognizes Taiwan as an integral part of China. Wang also pointed out their mutual goal of preserving World War Two achievements and ensuring regional stability.
Both nations agreed to broaden their collaborative efforts beyond trade, planning enhanced developmental projects on mineral resources in Tajikistan and security through joint patrols. This partnership marks a significant deepening of ties in economic, political, and security domains.
Overall, Wang Yi’s visit reaffirmed China’s commitment as a pivotal partner for Tajikistan, underlining their shared aspirations for growth and stability in the region. Both countries expressed a determination for enduring collaboration that benefits their citizens and fosters regional peace.
