Bigg Boss has long been associated with high emotions and tense moments, yet producers say a comprehensive mental health programme is in place to protect contestants throughout the season.
Producer Rishi Negi explained that every participant undergoes thorough medical assessments, which include psychological testing, before being cleared to join the house. He added that the production has at times followed medical advice to prevent certain individuals from entering the show.
Negi noted the care continues once filming starts: the production maintains both a physician and a psychiatrist on call around the clock to assist contestants who experience distress.
"If a contestant has a breakdown, psychiatric help is immediately available," he said, stressing that choices about whether someone stays or is withdrawn rest solely with medical professionals, not the channel, producers, or host.
Negi also highlighted the show's diverse audience and the need to balance entertainment with ethical responsibility. "Bringing many people together will naturally produce strong emotions," he said, "but the intent is not to create conflict or exploit vulnerability — we are conscious of the effect on both participants and viewers."
