Asian countries are facing an energy crisis as the ongoing Iran war disrupts global oil and gas supply. The situation is affecting fuel prices, transportation, and daily life across the region.
Many Asian nations depend heavily on energy imports, especially through the Strait of Hormuz. Due to rising tensions and attacks, supply routes have been affected, leading to fewer shipments and higher costs.
Japan is among the most affected countries, as it depends on this route for most of its oil. Fuel prices have already increased, and the government is using its reserves to manage the situation.
South Korea is also facing pressure due to rising energy costs. The government is planning to increase coal and nuclear power to maintain supply stability.
China has managed the situation better due to strong energy reserves and increased use of renewable energy. However, fuel and travel costs are rising for consumers.
In Southeast Asia, countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia are experiencing higher production and transportation costs. Businesses are facing challenges due to increased fuel expenses.
The Philippines has introduced financial support for transport workers and reduced working days to save energy. Meanwhile, Pakistan has taken steps like reducing fuel usage and closing schools temporarily.
India is focusing on increasing domestic gas production and prioritizing household supply. Nepal has started rationing cooking gas to manage shortages.
Overall, Asian countries are taking urgent steps to control the situation, but rising energy costs may continue to impact economies and daily life in the coming weeks.
