Al Ain recently celebrated its rich heritage with the opening of the inaugural Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (AAIHEX) at the ADNEC Centre, running until November 30. The event welcomed esteemed guests, including His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who explored the wide array of exhibits.
Covering 24,000 square meters with 873 exhibitors from 12 nations, AAIHEX showcased an impressive collection of hunting gear, falconry, equestrian sports, camels, saluki dogs, camping supplies, and adventure tourism. Highlighting local arts and traditional crafts, the event underscores the UAE's dedication to preserving its cultural heritage.
During their visit, the Sheikhs connected with representatives from both local and international organizations, observing groundbreaking advancements in traditional sporting equipment and technology. Remarkably, Emirati exhibitors made up 88% of the total, affirming the exhibition's role as a vital platform for local brands to gain international visibility.
The expo featured 11 key sectors such as veterinary products, outdoor equipment, environmental conservation, mobile homes, and safari experiences. Attendees had the chance to enjoy over 20 live performances and competitions, ranging from traditional cooking contests and Arabic coffee workshops to showcases of Emirati hospitality and folk events like Al-Yowla and Al-Tabbah.
Blending tradition with innovation, AAIHEX has swiftly become a notable event in Al Ain, coinciding with the city’s designation as the Gulf Capital of Tourism 2025. It not only celebrates national heritage but also serves as a unique platform for enthusiasts, professionals, and businesses to connect and exchange insights in traditional sports and lifestyle.
