Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 is quickly becoming one of the most awaited films in Bollywood. This epic narrative brings together a stellar cast, with Ranbir Kapoor taking on the role of Lord Rama, Yash as the fierce Ravana, Sai Pallavi portraying Sita, and Sunny Deol embodying Lord Hanuman. Set for a Diwali 2026 release, the film aims to present a grand retelling of the epic Hindu tale using modern cinematic techniques and dynamic performances.
Sources indicate that the talented cast has made considerable sacrifices and put in significant work for this ambitious production. With the extensive scale involved and the grandeur of its storyline, preparations, training, and character development have taken up several months for the entire team.
Ajinkya Deo, a noted actor in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, portrays the critical role of Sage Vishwamitra, the guiding mentor to Lord Rama. Recently, Ajinkya discussed his experience collaborating with Ranbir Kapoor on the set of Ramayana: Part 1.
He expressed, “Ranbir worked hard to make me feel at ease right from the start. He often complimented my work, saying, ‘Sir, that was a beautiful shot!’ What resonated with me the most was his heartfelt nature—there were no facades or pretensions. He is genuinely himself.”
Ajinkya elaborated on how Ranbir’s authenticity shines on screen. “Ranbir is simply who he is, which fosters a connection with the audience. There’s an immediate bond since he presents himself without any barriers. Previously, actors often maintained some distance from viewers, but now it's all about being direct and real.”
The first part of the film will explore key moments in Lord Rama’s life, including his childhood, training under Sage Vishwamitra, and his rise as Ayodhya’s hero. Audiences can expect stunning visual effects, intricate sets, and powerful performances from the star-studded ensemble.
Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for theaters on Diwali 2026, with Ramayana: Part 2 already scheduled for Diwali 2027, completing the epic saga. Under Nitesh Tiwari's direction and with a committed cast, the film is poised to make significant waves both critically and commercially, potentially setting new standards for mythological storytelling in Bollywood.
