Air India has landed in the headlines again — this time because of a quirky entry in a Delhi–Dubai flight logbook. An internal maintenance note that mentioned a "live cockroach was discovered mid-air and hanged until death" has been widely shared online, provoking amusement and curiosity rather than complaints about service.
The photograph of the logbook was circulated on X by aviation reporter Jagriti Chandra. According to the entry, a passenger in seat 17G reported spotting the insect, and the crew's log tersely stated the matter was "dealt with conclusively — Khalaas, Dubai style," implying the pest was dispatched during the flight.
Social media users quickly turned the note into a meme. One commentator joked about whether the "body" was handed over to relatives, while another quipped about catering staff being asked to take custody. Others riffed on the idea of a mid-air deboarding or a mock trial for the insect, turning the situation into light online banter.
What began as an internal record has become an internet curiosity, with many praising the crew's dry humour and calling the entry one of the most entertaining items to appear in a logbook. The episode highlights how even routine aviation paperwork can capture public attention when shared widely.
Beyond the laughs, the viral post is a reminder that Air India, even amid frequent scrutiny, still finds ways to spark public conversation in unexpected, often lighthearted ways.
