Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has raised awareness among her followers regarding a case of impersonation on WhatsApp. On November 16, she took to Instagram to inform the public that someone was posing as her on the messaging app. The impersonator was allegedly using her images and reaching out to photographers under the guise of organizing "photoshoots."
In her message, Aditi stated, “That’s not me. I never communicate like this, and I don't utilize any personal number for professional matters. All communications go through my team.” She revealed the WhatsApp number associated with the impersonator, urging fans to stay alert. She added, “Please be cautious and avoid engaging with that number. If you notice anything suspicious, please inform my team. Thank you to everyone who is supportive and protective.”
Reactions poured in from fans and fellow stars, including a humorous remark from comedian Kusha Kapila, who pointed out that the impersonator couldn't replicate Aditi's unique style or use her Instagram display picture accurately.
While this incident caused some concern, Aditi recently enjoyed a peaceful weekend supporting animal welfare initiatives. Last month, she shared images on Instagram showing her playing with rescued dogs, praising the efforts of individuals and organizations committed to caring for stray animals. She wrote, “Sundays are for cuddles and squishes. More power to these incredibly inspiring humans for rescuing and looking after these furry babies. Tight slaps to evil humans who abandon them, torture them and behave like demons.”
She tagged organizations such as The Pet Café Hyderabad and Devens Hope Society in her posts, expressing appreciation towards the staff and the dogs she interacted with, affectionately naming them Malli Poo and Mumsie Pie.
On the professional front, Aditi Rao Hydari was last featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, further establishing her presence in critically acclaimed projects.
As social media impersonations continue to rise, Aditi's cautionary statement serves as an essential reminder for fans to verify contacts claiming to represent celebrities and promptly report any suspicious activity.
