Displaying remarkable form, Kohli reached his century in just 91 balls, striking 8 fours and 2 sixes. This innings marked his seventh ODI century against New Zealand, setting a record as the most by any player in this format against the Kiwis.

With this achievement, Kohli surpassed Ricky Ponting and Virender Sehwag, both of whom had six ODI centuries against New Zealand. Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya are tied for third, each with five centuries.
