Pakistan Assures Tight Security for US-Iran Talks

Pakistan Assures Tight Security for US-Iran Talks

Post by : Shakul

Pakistan has assured comprehensive security arrangements ahead of high-stakes talks between the United States and Iran scheduled in Islamabad. The meeting comes after a temporary ceasefire between the two nations.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured US Ambassador Natalie Baker that “foolproof security” measures have been put in place for all foreign dignitaries attending the talks.

The negotiations follow a two-week ceasefire that paused hostilities which began in late February. Pakistan has played a key role as a mediator, facilitating dialogue and encouraging de-escalation between both sides.

Authorities have implemented extensive security measures across Islamabad. The Red Zone has been sealed, major roads including Faisal Avenue restricted, and special VVIP protocols introduced for visiting delegations.

Traffic diversions have been announced, and certain entry points to the capital have been closed. Law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and hospitals have been placed on high alert to ensure readiness for any situation.

A 30-member advance US team has already arrived to review arrangements, while hotels in high-security areas have been cleared for official use. Local holidays were also declared in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to minimize public movement.

The talks are expected to be a critical step toward resolving ongoing tensions, with Pakistan continuing its diplomatic efforts to promote peace, stability, and dialogue in the region.
