Ukraine Sends Negotiation Team to US for War Talks With Russia

Ukraine Sends Negotiation Team to US for War Talks With Russia

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a team of Ukrainian negotiators is on its way to the United States to discuss Washington’s plan to end the ongoing war with Russia.

In a post shared on X, Zelensky said that Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and head of the Ukrainian delegation, is leading the team. The delegation is already en route to the United States to engage in high-level discussions aimed at finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict that has gripped Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

The Ukrainian President highlighted the importance of international support and dialogue in seeking a peaceful resolution to the war. These talks in Washington are expected to focus on security arrangements, ceasefire terms, and broader strategies to end the hostilities while ensuring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This development marks a significant step in Ukraine’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to gain backing from the United States and its allies, while seeking to pressure Russia into negotiations. International observers and political analysts are closely monitoring the discussions, which could shape the future course of the conflict and impact global security dynamics.

As the Ukrainian delegation heads to the United States, the world watches closely, hopeful that constructive negotiations can lead to a lasting resolution to the war and bring relief to millions affected by the conflict.
