UAE Takes Action Against Terror Cell Tied to Iran

UAE Takes Action Against Terror Cell Tied to Iran

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The State Security Agency of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has proclaimed the dismantling of a terrorist group, arresting several suspects who posed a threat to national safety and stability.

As reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the investigation disclosed that this group had connections to Iran's "Velayat-e Faqih" network. Authorities established that the members embraced extremist beliefs and plotted systematic acts of terror and sabotage throughout the UAE.

The inquiry revealed that the group held clandestine meetings both domestically and internationally, coordinating with external bodies to recruit individuals and target strategic locations within the UAE.

Moreover, officials noted that the organization sought to sway Emirati youth by disseminating false narratives and promoting allegiance to foreign factions. Their activities appeared aimed at undermining the UAE's internal policies and international image.

Additionally, the group engaged in fundraising through unauthorized channels, channeling these funds to dubious foreign entities.

Those charged now face various allegations, including the establishment and management of a clandestine organization, pledging loyalty to foreign powers, and jeopardizing national unity and social harmony.

The State Security Agency reiterated its dedication to ensuring public security and stability, urging both citizens and residents to report any unusual activities via official channels as part of ongoing national security measures.
