Abu Dhabi Hosts Talks Between UAE and Congo Leaders

Post by : Badri Ariffin

During an official working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly received Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The high-profile discussions aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties and expanding cooperative efforts across various sectors.

The leaders delved into enhancing economic and development partnerships, particularly under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Their discussions revealed avenues to align joint initiatives with each nation's development goals, promoting shared growth and prosperity.

Aside from economic matters, they also tackled the latest developments in the Middle East and their implications for both regional and global security. President Tshisekedi firmly condemned attacks on civilians and infrastructure, reiterating that such actions breach international law and destabilize the area.

He further expressed the Democratic Republic of the Congo's support for the UAE, emphasizing solidarity in securing national interests, protecting sovereignty, and ensuring citizen safety.

The meeting included high-ranking UAE officials, such as Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, accompanied by various ministers and officials.

Upon his arrival in the UAE, President Tshisekedi was welcomed by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, initiating his official visit aimed at bolstering diplomatic and economic connections between the two nations.
