Strengthening UAE-Africa Ties: AfCFTA Talks on Trade and Investment

In a significant meeting held in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan engaged with Wamkele Mene to explore avenues for deepening collaborations between the UAE and African nations, particularly concerning investment and infrastructure initiatives.

Both leaders acknowledged the rapidly evolving dynamics of the UAE-Afrika partnership, which emphasizes trust, mutual respect, and a unified approach towards sustainable economic growth.

Discussions largely revolved around amplifying investments in critical sectors, particularly in digital and physical infrastructure. Enhancing these infrastructures is deemed vital for advancing trade and fostering better market connections across the African continent.

The necessity for propelling digital transformation efforts was underscored, projecting its capability to fuel economic development and generate fresh business prospects.

Additionally, the dialogue focused on enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors of the UAE and African countries. The leaders concurred that such partnerships could significantly contribute to driving sustainable growth.

The meeting also addressed regional developments and security issues, especially Iran’s ramifications on stability, maritime security threats, and their potential impacts on global economic performance.

Both parties reiterated their dedication to fortifying UAE-Africa relations and advancing efforts to facilitate sustainable economic progress.
