In a landmark session led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Cabinet has greenlit a transformative framework to integrate Agentic AI within government functions.
The assembly saw the participation of senior Emirati officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as essential national strategies and reforms came under discussion.
Transformative Reach of Agentic AI
Following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid declared that AI will revolutionize 50% of government sectors, services, and operations within a two-year framework.
He indicated that this decisive shift will position the UAE as the first nation globally to deploy wide-ranging Agentic AI systems capable of autonomously executing tasks and making decisions in crucial service areas.
AI as a Collaborative Oversight Tool
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid elaborated that the advanced AI systems will perform not just data analyses but will also:
Observe changes in real-time
Generate recommendations
Oversee operations
Act independently
Assess outcomes and refine services
He emphasized that AI will act as a vital executive partner to enhance efficiency, speed, and service quality.
Workforce Training Initiatives
This transformation will encompass extensive training programs to enable government employees to become proficient with AI technologies.
The assessment of ministers, directors general, and government bodies will hinge on:
Rate of AI implementation
Deployment of innovative systems
Adaptability to forthcoming technologies
Taskforce Dedicated to Implementation
A specialized taskforce has been established to oversee this pivotal project:

The Cabinet has also ratified significant policies, including:
UAE Code for Government Services & Zero Bureaucracy, aimed at standardizing and simplifying service processes

Government data sharing policy based on a “collect once, use across entities” principle
Digital project alignment guide to increase efficiency and avoid redundancies
Critical Economic Initiatives
Additional significant decisions included:
Reconstitution of the Higher Committee for Free Trade Negotiations
Reconstitution of the Emirates Development Bank Board
New frameworks aimed at enhancing logistics, digital addressing, and trade mechanisms
Commitment to Sustainability and Green Initiatives
The Cabinet also assessed key green initiatives within the National Biofuel Policy 2025, which includes:
Projects converting waste to fuel for sustainable aviation
Expansion of biodiesel production capacity
A $300 million investment in a new facility in Fujairah
A global energy efficiency alliance has also been initiated to bolster climate action.
International Collaborations and Future Engagements
The UAE approved:
The ratification of 16 international agreements and MoUs relating to trade, science, labor, and sustainability
Accession to the International Accreditation Organization
A national strategy for conserving ivory and rhinoceroses
The nation is also set to host international events, which include the World Mathematics Day 2026, biodiversity and food security conferences, and digital economy workshops.
Embracing a New Era of Digital Governance
This initiative builds on two decades of UAE's digital transformation, evolving from e-government to comprehensive smart services such as UAE Pass. By adopting Agentic AI, the UAE aims to step into an advanced phase of fully intelligent, autonomous government systems, emphasizing speed, efficiency, and enhanced public services.
