Drunk Driver in Audi Crashes into Crowd in Jaipur, Causing Fatalities

Post by : Badri Ariffin

On Friday night, a speeding Audi vehicle collided with a group of pedestrians in Jaipur, Rajasthan, leading to the death of one individual and injuring 15 others.

As per police reports, the luxury car lost control after hitting a road divider, subsequently crashing into roadside stalls and food vendors for almost 30 meters. The car eventually struck a tree, coming to a stop and damaging multiple parked vehicles in the process.

Images from the scene depicted scattered food carts across the roadway, illustrating the crash's severity.

All 16 affected individuals were quickly transported to a nearby medical facility. Four sustained critical injuries and were transferred to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital for further treatment. Among the injured was Ramesh Bairwa from Bhilwara, who sadly passed away during his recovery.

Authorities reported that four individuals were in the vehicle, allegedly all under the influence of alcohol. One suspect was taken into custody, while the other three fled and are being pursued.

The identified driver, Dinesh Ranwan, hails from Rajasthan’s Churu district. The vehicle has been confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.

Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his condolences over the tragic event and instructed officials to provide comprehensive medical support to the injured. Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar visited the hospital to monitor the victims' conditions.

Investigations are continuing, with police confirming that stringent actions will be implemented against those accountable.
