Thailand’s Ministry of Education has officially launched a new digital safety system called “Edusafe School” to improve protection and emergency response inside educational institutions across the country. The initiative was introduced during a signing ceremony held in Bangkok on May 15, 2026, led by Education Minister Prasert Chantarawongthong.
The Ministry of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with more than eighteen partner organizations to strengthen cooperation on school safety and the development of creative and secure learning spaces for students. Officials said the agreement reflects the government’s effort to make student safety a national priority.
According to the Education Minister, the newly launched Edusafe School platform is designed to provide fast emergency assistance through smartphones. In emergency situations, users can press an SOS button that immediately connects to Google Earth and sends the exact location to a central control system for rapid response.
The system is also capable of recording audio information and transmitting details directly to emergency staff who are available twenty-four hours a day. Authorities explained that the platform was developed not only to report incidents but also to provide broader support services for students, teachers and parents.
Officials said the Edusafe School system is linked to a Rights Protection Center that offers psychological assistance, legal guidance and rehabilitation services through a one-stop support system. The government believes the project will help improve both physical and emotional safety inside schools.
The Ministry stated that schools today face a growing number of security concerns, including violence, drug-related incidents, accidents and online threats. The new safety network aims to close gaps in emergency response and improve coordination between educational institutions and government agencies.
Several major agencies joined the cooperation agreement, including the Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Interior, Royal Thai Police and the Equitable Education Fund. Together, the organizations will work on prevention measures, emergency response systems and student protection programs.
Education officials emphasized that the project focuses on long-term sustainability through cooperation between multiple sectors instead of depending only on government budgets. Authorities hope the technology-driven system will create safer environments where students can study with confidence and peace of mind.
The launch of Edusafe School marks another step in Thailand’s efforts to modernize educational safety systems using digital technology. Officials believe the platform can improve communication, speed up emergency support and strengthen trust between schools, families and government institutions.
