SRK and Kajol Celebrate DDLJ's 30th Anniversary with Statue Unveiling

Post by : Meena Ariff

In a heartfelt celebration of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol gathered in Leicester Square, London to mark the beloved film's 30th anniversary. They revealed a striking bronze statue depicting their iconic poses from the film, which instantly captured public attention on social media.

Accompanied by their children, son Yug and daughter Nysa, the poignant moment was made even more special. Shah Rukh was seen with his famous umbrella, beckoning Kajol and the kids to join him. Nysa beamed at the cameras, while Yug seemed a bit reserved. Fans online were quick to express their admiration for the family, particularly noting the similarities between Yug and his father.

At the unveiling, Shah Rukh expressed, “DDLJ was created with love and sincerity. We aimed to share a story that transcends boundaries. It’s gratifying to witness its enduring legacy after 30 years. Personally, it's a fundamental part of who I am, and it’s incredibly humbling to see the continued affection it garners.”

Kajol reflected on the occasion by saying, “It’s truly amazing to see DDLJ still cherished after three decades. Watching the statue unveiled felt like revisiting an essential chapter of our history—a narrative that resonates through generations.”

Directed by Aditya Chopra, DDLJ, which premiered in 1995, has secured its place as a timeless romantic icon, continually appealing to audiences young and old alike.
