SpaceX Aims for 10,000 Rocket Launches Annually by 2031

SpaceX Aims for 10,000 Rocket Launches Annually by 2031

Post by : Badri Ariffin

SpaceX is setting its sights on executing 10,000 rocket launches per year by 2031, as stated by the head of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford noted that he recently had discussions with Gwynne Shotwell, who shared the company’s bold vision to enhance its launch operations significantly.

While speaking at a public forum, Bedford remarked that the FAA does not view regulations as a primary barrier to increasing launch frequencies within the country.

This announcement coincides with SpaceX’s submission of its S-1 prospectus to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as it gears up for what could be one of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) in history.

Notably, this filing represents the first occasion in its 24-year history that SpaceX has disclosed comprehensive financial details.

The application reveals that the company recorded $18.7 billion in revenue in 2025, despite also reporting an operating loss of $2.6 billion due to ongoing investments in next-gen rocket technologies and AI initiatives.

While SpaceX has not officially indicated the amount it plans to raise through the IPO or its anticipated market valuation, various US media outlets suggest aims of nearly $75 billion with a potential valuation reaching up to $1.75 trillion.

The company’s ambitious expansion strategies underscore its advancing focus on large-scale space logistics, satellite launches, and aerospace innovations.
