His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, has assessed the development of the AED500 million Al Mamzar Beaches project, integral to the broader AED3 billion Dubai Beaches initiative.
Accompanied by prominent royal family members such as Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, Sheikh Mohammed's visit highlighted the project's significance.
He emphasized that the initiative aligns with Dubai's vision to be the world's premier living destination by 2040, aiming to expand beach capacity by 170% for both tourists and residents.
Covering approximately 4 million square feet, the Al Mamzar Beaches project is anticipated to attract up to 7 million visitors annually once completed.
According to Dubai Municipality, the development will feature 35 state-of-the-art service and leisure facilities set to meet international benchmarks, ensuring accessibility for people of determination.
A standout feature will be the world’s first 24/7 women-only beach, providing a safe and private environment for night swimming.
The project also plans to introduce a unique floating walkway at Al Mamzar Lagoon, accompanied by a waterfront dining area and various leisure spaces.
Enhanced connectivity will be provided via over 5.5 kilometers of walking, running, and cycling paths linking the lagoon, corniche, and Al Mamzar Beach Park, creating an integrated beachfront experience.
The initiative embraces smart city innovations, incorporating AI and IoT technologies to enhance safety and optimize operations.
Al Mamzar Lagoon Beach will span 2.75 million square feet, featuring a 300-meter night swimming area, athletic zones, recreational water activities, and shaded seating options. Meanwhile, Al Mamzar Corniche will cover 1.25 million square feet, offering exclusive experiences such as a private women's beach and art walkways.
Dubai Municipality also envisions attracting private investments in retail, dining, water sports, and leisure services to bolster economic participation.
Over 350,000 cubic meters of sand have been employed to fortify the coastline and enhance environmental sustainability.
Officials have stated that the project forms a key component of Dubai's long-standing strategy to uplift living standards, promote tourism, and develop sustainable coastal attractions.
Expected to launch soon, the Al Mamzar Beaches project is set to become a top family-friendly seaside destination in Dubai.
