World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka powered into the final of the 2026 Indian Wells Open after defeating Czech rising star Linda Noskova in straight sets on Friday. The Belarusian star secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the semifinal at the BNP Paribas Open, continuing her impressive run in the WTA 1000 tournament.
Sabalenka dominated the match with aggressive baseline play and a strong serving performance. She converted 38 of her 58 first serves and fired 11 aces, consistently putting Noskova under pressure throughout the one hour and 28-minute contest. The win marks Sabalenka’s third appearance in the Indian Wells final in the last four years.
Despite her strong history at the event, Sabalenka is still chasing her first title at Indian Wells, having finished runner-up in her previous two finals. The 2026 final therefore presents another opportunity for the Belarusian to finally claim the prestigious WTA 1000 trophy.
In the championship match, Sabalenka will face Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who defeated Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina 7-5, 6-4 in the other semifinal. The upcoming clash is expected to be one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, featuring two of the most powerful players on the WTA Tour.
The final will also serve as a rematch of the 2026 Australian Open title match earlier this year, where Rybakina defeated Sabalenka to win the Grand Slam. Sabalenka’s only loss of the 2026 season so far came in that final, making the Indian Wells showdown an opportunity for redemption.
Sabalenka has been in outstanding form this season, reaching the semifinals of six consecutive WTA Tour events and building an impressive win record in 2026. Her dominant serving and powerful groundstrokes have once again made her one of the toughest opponents on tour.
With both players arriving in top form, the Indian Wells final promises a thrilling contest between two of women’s tennis’ biggest stars as Sabalenka attempts to break her runner-up streak and Rybakina aims to extend her recent dominance in their rivalry.
