Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a notable recognition, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has celebrated 737 exemplary public bus drivers for their exceptional service in 2025. This honor reflects their dedication to safety, discipline, and the effective delivery of services in alignment with established performance metrics.

This initiative underscores the RTA’s ongoing commitment to elevate public transportation standards and enhance safety and quality measures, ultimately aiming to improve customer satisfaction and travel experiences.

Marwan Al Zarooni, Director of Buses at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, noted that this recognition supports the RTA's strategic goals concerning health, safety, and customer satisfaction. He emphasized the initiative's role in fostering a secure transportation environment while promoting innovative and sustainable mobility options.

He elaborated on the annual evaluation program that drivers undergo, which assesses various critical factors including adherence to traffic regulations, safety protocols, service quality, and professional conduct, along with the absence of customer complaints.

Al Zarooni congratulated the awarded drivers, commending their unwavering commitment and consistent performance, which contributes significantly to a safe and superior transport system that mirrors Dubai's progressive outlook and the UAE's global standing.

He also mentioned that this initiative encourages friendly competition among drivers, enhances road safety awareness, and inspires employees to uphold high service standards that align with global best practices.

Furthermore, the RTA reported impressive growth in public bus usage, with ridership hitting 197.2 million in 2025, representing a 4.9% increase from the previous year. This growth highlights the rising public confidence in Dubai’s transportation network.

The honored drivers expressed their gratitude for the recognition, indicating that it inspires them to sustain high performance levels and reflects the RTA's strong emphasis on employee recognition and professional growth. They affirmed that this initiative aligns with the RTA’s vision of achieving global leadership in seamless and sustainable mobility.
