Qatar Denounces Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Minister

Qatar Denounces Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Minister

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of the recent storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israel’s extremist National Security Minister, along with provocative actions facilitated by Israeli settlers under occupation forces' protection.

In a statement released on Friday, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the incident as a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law, labeling it an unacceptable provocation to millions of Muslims worldwide.

The ministry also condemned the restrictions placed on worshipers attempting to access the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Qatar warned that such recurrent actions pose a significant risk in altering the historical and legal status quo of occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The statement emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is solely a place of worship for Muslims and stressed that any unilateral measures by Israel aimed at changing Jerusalem's status or its sacred sites are illegal under international law.

Moreover, Qatar cautioned that continued provocations could escalate violence and instability in the region, undermining efforts to achieve peace and stability.

The ministry reiterated Qatar's call for the international community to urgently press Israel, as the occupying power, to halt its violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites. It further urged Israel to adhere to international resolutions.

Qatar reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
