Post Malone Acknowledges Zubeen Garg in Guwahati as Investigation Unfolds

Post Malone Acknowledges Zubeen Garg in Guwahati as Investigation Unfolds

Post by : Saif Rahman

During a heartfelt concert on December 8, Post Malone moved fans in Guwahati by honoring the iconic Assamese artist Zubeen Garg. This tribute resonated deeply as investigations into Garg's death continue to unfold.

Post Malone spoke affectionately about Guwahati’s musical heritage, expressing his privilege to perform in the hometown of such a revered legend, leading to an enthusiastic response from the audience. The touching moment garnered significant attention on social media, with many praising its sincerity.

Zubeen Garg, beloved in Assam and beyond, passed away in September 2025, leaving fans in shock. Official reports initially classified his death as drowning near Singapore during a cultural trip, with Singapore Police concluding no foul play was present.

However, the matter escalated in India, prompting the Assam Police to establish a Special Investigation Team. Over 60 complaints emerged, leading to multiple raids on festival organizers, managers, security personnel, and close friends. Investigators are also scrutinizing substantial financial transactions.

A second autopsy in Delhi reportedly confirmed drowning, ruling out poison. Despite this, the Assam government suggests a murder rather than an accident. Several individuals associated with the case, including festival organizers and a police officer relative, have been apprehended, with a chargesheet anticipated soon.

In the midst of such turmoil, Post Malone's tribute symbolized unity and reverence, reinforcing the emotional connection between Zubeen Garg and his admirers in Assam. Fans felt a surge of pride as an international star honored their local cherished figure.

This concert marked a significant milestone for Guwahati; Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hailed the event as a pivotal moment for the city’s presence in the global entertainment landscape. The moment captured the essence of international respect for local artists.

This occasion underscores the universal power of music to bridge divides and emphasizes the quest for truth and justice. While fans relished the tribute, they remain hopeful for clarity regarding Zubeen Garg's untimely death.

As the investigation continues, this tribute in Guwahati serves as a reminder of how legends persist through their music, their people, and the honor they receive worldwide.
