This advisory comes after noticeable cracking was detected at the historic Old Fort landslide site, situated roughly five kilometers south of Fort St. John. The visible fractures imply potential further movement of the slope, threatening nearby homes and infrastructure.

As a preventive measure, Old Fort Road, the principal route for local access, has been shut down. According to communications from Emergency Info BC, affected residents are required to remain sheltered until it is safe to reopen the road.
