The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed profound condolences to the families of those affected, as well as the government and people of the Philippines, following the tragic accident involving the passenger vessel MV Trisha Kerstin 3. This heartbreaking incident has deeply saddened the nation as rescue efforts continue.
According to official reports, the accident occurred early Monday at 1:50 am (1750 GMT) while the MV Trisha Kerstin 3 was sailing toward Jolo in the Sulu province. The vessel had departed from Zamboanga before the accident took place, causing widespread concern and mobilization of emergency response teams.
As of Tuesday, rescue operations have successfully saved 316 passengers from the incident. Authorities are actively working to assist all those affected and are continuing search and rescue efforts to locate any missing individuals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its sympathy and support to the victims’ families, reaffirming the government’s commitment to provide all necessary aid during this difficult time.
