Mithoon Revives Sandese Aate Hai 2.0 for Border 2 with Stellar Cast

Mithoon Revives Sandese Aate Hai 2.0 for Border 2 with Stellar Cast

Post by : Meena Ariff

As anticipation builds for the upcoming release of Border 2, the spotlight is shining on its music, particularly the revamped version of the iconic track Sandese Aate Hai. Esteemed composer Mithoon has taken on the challenge of reinterpreting this beloved classic, and he’s enlisted a remarkable lineup of talent: Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, and Vishal Mishra.

This fresh rendition, titled Sandese Aate Hai 2.0, boasts a massive ensemble of over 100 supporting vocalists and has been in production for almost a year. More than 500 specialists, including orchestral musicians, arrangers, and sound engineers, have worked together to create a rich and emotionally engaging experience. The lead vocalists have dedicated the past six months exploring harmonies and orchestral layers at Yash Raj Studios.

According to reports, the producers have allocated approximately ₹10 crore for the rights to the song, ensuring that this new version respects the emotional essence of the original, steering clear of superficial gimmicks. Anu Malik, the original composer, has also given his blessing for this remake.

The music video will be shot in a grand, open-air venue, showcasing Sunny Deol (with vocals by Arijit Singh), Varun Dhawan (Vishal Mishra), Ahan Shetty (Sonu Nigam), and Diljit Dosanjh in featured roles.

Originally composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Javed Akhtar for JP Dutta’s 1997 classic, the original Sandese Aate Hai is celebrated as a patriotic anthem and holds an esteemed place in Bollywood history. Mithoon, known for reviving classic tracks like Udd Ja Kale Kawa for Gadar 2, continues to showcase his talent in bringing treasured songs to today’s audience.

Border 2 is being produced by JP Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh. The film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, and Paramvir Cheema. Mark your calendars; it is set to premiere on January 22, aligned with the Republic Day weekend.
