Manika Vishwakarma Offers a Fresh Take on Womanhood at Miss Universe 2025

Manika Vishwakarma Offers a Fresh Take on Womanhood at Miss Universe 2025

Post by : Meena Ariff

At the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand, Manika Vishwakarma, representing India, has captured the spotlight with her poise, confidence, and articulate responses. Her elegant fashion choices have mesmerized onlookers, but it's her insightful answers during the interview segments that are garnering significant praise.

In a unique “chain reaction question session” on November 16, she was posed with the same famous query that Sushmita Sen answered at the Miss Universe 1994 finale: “What does it mean to be a woman?” Before sharing her thoughts, Manika reflected on Sushmita’s iconic answer, commending its honesty and simplicity. She emphasized Sushmita's message about a woman’s nurturing essence.

Expanding on this timeless idea, Manika articulated a contemporary interpretation. She pointed out that while women have the extraordinary ability to give and nurture life, they should also transcend societal roles and expectations. Manika asserted that women possess the power to enhance everything around them, declaring that the essence of womanhood is found in their capacity to embrace, enrich, and amplify their surroundings. She referred to the nature of womanhood as “infinite,” a defining trait that makes women exceptional.

Visually impactful, Manika also graced the stage in a stunning Indian outfit designed by Rajdeep Ranawat. Her ensemble featured a rich black and navy lehenga coupled with a mirror-embellished choli. A beautifully embroidered navy jacket complemented her look, adorned with floral designs and intricate mirror work, exuding both elegance and modernity.

Through her grace, articulate thoughts, and genuine personality, Manika Vishwakarma is reinforcing India’s presence at Miss Universe 2025. Her profound reinterpretation of a notable pageant question has not only resonated with audiences globally but also highlights her blend of cultural pride, depth, and confidence.
