Mandhira Kapur Discusses Sunjay Kapur's Divorce and Family Feuds

Mandhira Kapur Discusses Sunjay Kapur's Divorce and Family Feuds

Post by : Meena Ariff

Mandhira Kapur, sister of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur, has publicly addressed her brother’s divorce from Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and the surrounding family disputes concerning his estate. Sunjay and Karisma were married in 2003 and had two children before separating in 2016. In 2017, Sunjay wed Priya Sachdev, with whom he had a son.

On a recent podcast, Mandhira Kapur tackled rumors alleging that Sunjay mistreated Karisma during their marriage, firmly dismissing such claims. She stated, “He didn’t treat Lolo badly. Yes, their divorce was tough, but all divorces come with their challenges. We should refrain from maligning children, ex-spouses, or family members. It’s easy to blame, but it takes courage to defend what’s right.” She stressed that divorces are inherently complex and cautioned against spreading unverified claims that might harm the family.

Mandhira expressed personal remorse regarding Sunjay’s second marriage, sharing, “I urged my father to allow Sunjay to marry Priya thinking it would bring him happiness. What she presented before the marriage has drastically changed. I feel foolish for placing my trust in that.” Her comments signal growing tensions within the family, particularly concerning the late businessman’s legacy and personal decisions.

Further complicating matters is a legal dispute over Sunjay Kapur’s estate. Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have petitioned the Delhi High Court to challenge the will presented by Priya Kapur, claiming it is forged and meant to exclude them from their father’s inheritance. The court has summoned Priya Kapur and the executor of the will, Shradha Suri Marwah, with the next hearing set for December 16. Priya's legal representatives argue that minor spelling mistakes do not invalidate the will, asserting the authenticity of Sunjay Kapur’s signature. However, Karisma’s children question the signature’s validity, intensifying the ongoing conflict.

This continuing feud, along with Mandhira Kapur’s revelations, has once again put Sunjay Kapur’s personal life in the spotlight. The situation underscores the emotional family dynamics involved in inheritance disputes and complexities following the passing of a notable figure. Experts caution that such legal conflicts can strain familial relationships for years, especially when children, remarriages, and estates are at play.

As the legal processes advance, the Kapur family remains under intense public and media scrutiny, with many interested to see how both the legal and personal issues evolve. Mandhira’s remarks not only aim to uphold her late brother’s reputation but also shed light on the private struggles behind one of Bollywood’s most talked-about family narratives.
