Authorities in Malaysia have widened an ongoing investigation into an alleged attempt to topple the government, with police preparing to question additional individuals. The probe is being led by Mohd Khalid Ismail, who confirmed that more people may soon be called in to assist.
According to officials, statements from up to 14 more individuals are expected to be recorded as part of efforts to gather further evidence. Investigators have already questioned several witnesses and are continuing follow-up actions to strengthen the case before submitting it for legal review.
The police have indicated that once all statements are collected, the investigation report will be handed over to the Attorney General’s Chambers Malaysia for further action. Authorities are also working to trace individuals believed to be overseas who may be linked to the case.
While speculation has surrounded certain high-profile names, officials have declined to confirm identities, stating that the investigation is still ongoing. Some individuals previously mentioned in connection with the case have denied any involvement, calling the allegations baseless.
The case has drawn significant attention as it relates to national security and political stability, with authorities emphasising that the investigation will proceed in accordance with the law.
