Strikes Reported On Iran’s Kharg Island Hub

Strikes Reported On Iran’s Kharg Island Hub

Post by : Shakul

Explosions were reported on Kharg Island, a crucial oil export hub of Iran, on Tuesday. According to Iranian media reports, the blasts occurred just hours before a deadline set by Donald Trump for Tehran to agree to a ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The island plays a vital role in global oil supply, making the situation highly sensitive.

Reports from Axios, citing a senior US official, claim that American forces carried out targeted strikes on military installations on the island. The developments come amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran, with Washington warning of large-scale attacks if its demands are not met.

Trump had earlier issued strong warnings, stating that Iran could face massive bombardment targeting its power plants, oil facilities, and critical infrastructure. He had also hinted at the possibility of seizing Kharg Island, underlining the strategic importance of the location in the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel confirmed conducting a wide wave of strikes on multiple infrastructure sites across Iran, though details remain limited. The situation has intensified further after Iran reportedly moved to close the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route, raising concerns over energy security and potential global economic impact.
