Actress Janhvi Kapoor once again drew attention for her sartorial choices at a close friend's wedding, sharing images on Instagram that quickly attracted praise from followers and style commentators.
A fusion of regional craft and couture
Kapoor chose a bespoke Lehenga by Jigya Patel fashioned from a rich silk blend, blending Parsi embroidery techniques with classic patola motifs. The look was anchored by a handcrafted dupatta, arranged in the traditional Gujarati drape to underline regional detailing.
She accessorised with a coloured-stone choker and carried an antique silver clutch — the Agira Silver Box Purse from Surabhi Didwania’s Motifs, reported at ₹2,86,300. Her hair was styled in a long braid threaded with silver charms, lending the ensemble an elegant yet playful finish.
Public response and style highlights
Social media responded enthusiastically to the outfit. Fans remarked on her likeness to her late mother, Sridevi, with comments such as “Perfect resemblance to your mother. You inherited your beauty from your mother.” Other admirers simply wrote, “Soooo beautiful.”
Close friend Orhan Awatramani (Orry) praised the post, commenting, “Best of the best.” Observers also pointed out floral sleeve borders with tassels and the antique, boho-inspired jewellery — rings, bracelets and earrings — as standout elements.
This appearance builds on Kapoor’s recent string of traditional looks: she previously appeared in a lime-yellow lehenga at sister Anshula Kapoor’s engagement, styled with a layered silver necklace and dangling earrings.
Over time, Janhvi has honoured her mother’s legacy by wearing Sridevi’s sarees for important occasions and has also made notable international statements — at the Cannes premiere of Homebound she opted for a sea-green backless gown with golden accents and a trail of stones along the back.
