A chaotic situation erupted on an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Krabi on Thursday morning after the pilot reportedly refused to operate the plane beyond his duty hours. Flight 6E 1085, originally scheduled for 4:05 am departure, was delayed by over three hours.
Videos from the scene show intense arguments between passengers and cabin crew. Some passengers accused the pilot of refusing to fly, citing that his duty hours had ended. In one clip, a passenger shouted about ruined plans, while another demanded to know why the pilot was "hiding." The video also captured a passenger kicking the plane’s exit door, highlighting the growing frustration onboard.
An IndiGo spokesperson explained that the delay resulted from multiple factors, including the late arrival of the incoming aircraft, air traffic congestion, and the crew exceeding their duty time limits. The airline added that two passengers displayed inappropriate behavior during the wait, were declared unruly, and were deboarded by security, causing additional delays.
The airline emphasized that meals and refreshments were provided to passengers to ease their wait. IndiGo assured that safety and a respectful environment remain its priority and apologized for the inconvenience.
According to flight tracking data, the plane, initially scheduled to land in Krabi at 10 am, finally arrived at approximately 1 pm, leaving travelers frustrated but relieved to reach their destination.
