Celebrating UAE National Day: A Deepening India-UAE Relationship

Celebrating UAE National Day: A Deepening India-UAE Relationship

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The 54th UAE National Day was celebrated with vibrant festivities in New Delhi on Monday, featuring Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who highlighted the ongoing friendship between India and the United Arab Emirates. The gathering, led by UAE Ambassador Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, welcomed diplomats, officials, and both Indian and Emirati community members.

Goyal emphasized the alignment between India’s ambitious vision of Vikasit Bharat 2047 and the UAE’s strategic framework, We the UAE 2031. He noted that the two nations are united in their pursuit of progress and prosperity for their citizens.

A key theme of the evening was the expanding partnership in education, with Goyal announcing that prestigious Indian institutions such as IIT, IIM, and IIFT are setting up campuses in Dubai. This collaboration is laying the groundwork for increased international academic cooperation and enhancing personal connections.

Goyal later took to X to thank the UAE envoy for their hospitality, describing the India-UAE relationship as one founded on trust, progress, and a joint vision for the future.

The UAE observes National Day on December 2 each year, commemorating the historic 1971 union of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah to form the federation, which was completed in 1972 with Ras Al Khaimah’s inclusion.

The Delhi event showcased the evolution of the India-UAE partnership and the exciting prospects for future collaboration spanning trade, education, culture, and technology.
