Iconic Bollywood figure Govinda was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after reportedly fainting at his residence in Mumbai. He was hurried to CritiCare Asia Multispeciality Hospital for immediate medical attention.
His legal representative, Lalit Bindal, mentioned that the actor was feeling unwell before the incident. “He felt disoriented. All medical tests have been completed, and we’re now waiting for the results and the neuro consultant's assessment. Currently, he is stable,” Bindal said.
This health scare arrives just a day after Govinda paid a visit to actor Dharmendra, who is recuperating at Breach Candy Hospital. A video shared online shows Govinda leaving the hospital with a worried expression.
This is not the first recent health concern for Govinda. Back in October, he sustained a bullet wound to his knee when his legally owned revolver accidentally discharged at home.
The incident occurred around 4:45 AM while Govinda was preparing for a show in Kolkata. The mishap transpired as he was storing his gun back in the cupboard.
Describing the incident, Govinda shared with the press, “I was getting set to leave for a Kolkata event early in the morning. At that time, it fell and accidentally fired. I was startled, and when I looked down, I noticed blood. I quickly contacted my doctor and was admitted to the hospital.”
He was released three days later, where he gratefully acknowledged fans outside the hospital, alongside his wife Sunita Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja.
Govinda is celebrated as one of Bollywood's cherished entertainers, renowned for his outstanding comic timing, dance prowess, and charm on screen. He gained prominence during the late 1980s with hits like Ilzaam (1986) and Love 86 (1986).
His enduring partnership with filmmaker David Dhawan led to numerous box office successes, including Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Raja Babu, and Partner. Govinda has also showcased his acting versatility through serious roles in various genres.
Over his impressive three-decade journey in cinema, Govinda has cemented his status as a household name in Indian entertainment, with his latest film appearance in Rangeela Raja (2019).
Currently, Govinda remains stable and under medical observation. Doctors have completed all requisite tests and are now awaiting neurological evaluations to discern the cause of his fainting episode. Fans and supporters nationwide are hoping for his swift recovery.
