Santiago, Chile: The International Air, Space, Defence and Security Exhibition (FIDAE 2026) was officially opened by Chilean President José Antonio Kast in Santiago, marking a significant event in Latin America’s defence and aerospace sector.

Taking place biennially at the Pudahuel Air Base, FIDAE is a prominent gathering for key figures in aviation, defence, and security, providing an important venue for fostering collaboration and technological progress on a global scale.

During the expo, President Kast explored numerous national pavilions, including that of EDGE Group. He expressed admiration for the UAE's exceptional participation, underscoring the innovative defence solutions and advanced technologies presented at the exhibition.

UAE Ambassador to Chile, Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, regarded the UAE's participation as a pivotal strategic achievement. He pointed out that it signifies the UAE's aim to cultivate robust international alliances in technology and innovation, with a focus on bolstering global security frameworks.

Al Neyadi emphasized EDGE Group’s debut in South America as a testament to the increasing trust in the UAE’s defence capabilities. He remarked that the UAE is dedicated to crafting integrated and future-ready solutions to adeptly manage evolving global challenges.

On the topic of bilateral relations, the ambassador highlighted the strengthening ties between the UAE and Chile. He noted expanding collaboration in economic, technical, and investment domains, identifying Chile as a vital ally in Latin America due to its open economy and robust innovation scene.

He further emphasized the necessity of global partnerships, stating that transferring knowledge and technology is crucial in tackling contemporary issues and achieving sustainable development goals.
