The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, part of the Dubai Chambers framework, hosted its inaugural event for the 2026 ‘In Focus’ series, tailored to assist Dubai businesses in identifying growth prospects in Ethiopia, Ghana, and South Africa.
Over 228 participants engaged in discussions about trade and investment opportunities in these burgeoning African markets. The event emphasized essential economic sectors and provided actionable strategies for entering these markets sustainably.
Additionally, the ‘In Focus’ event unveiled the ‘New Horizons’ initiative, facilitating Dubai companies' participation in trade missions organized by the Chamber. These missions will target select global markets and encompass business engagements, investment dialogues, and collaboration opportunities, with trade missions to Ethiopia, Ghana, and South Africa anticipated in the first half of 2026.
His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the Chamber's role in aiding businesses to navigate new international markets. He reiterated the aims of fostering robust partnerships and bolstering competitiveness through insightful market intelligence and professional support.
During the session, trade statistics illustrated the burgeoning economic links between Dubai and Africa. In 2024, non-oil trade with Ethiopia surged to AED 6.6 billion, a remarkable 90% annual increase. Dubai's trade with Ghana reached AED 24.7 billion, marking a 75% rise, while interactions with South Africa expanded by 20% to AED 29 billion.
A comprehensive presentation detailed how the Chamber assists companies aiming for international market entry, covering aspects such as market analysis, business establishment, joint ventures, and access to current business insights.
Participants of the ‘In Focus’ series gain tailored market intelligence and continuous support throughout their international expansion endeavors, empowering them to make well-informed decisions and establish thriving operations abroad.
